CONGRATULATIONS!

I’m please to announce that one of our newest members has just earned his Foundation license.

Please help me congratulate VK4GCS, Glenn. Glenn joined the club only a few months ago. He studied the Foundation License study guide and met with Ashleigh, VK4DRA for some test prep sessions. Glenn passed with flying colours and was awarded his callsign.

Glenn setup his radio and antenna at his home on the Gold Coast and at first was not having much luck. A few members pitched in and offered suggestions and after a few adjustments he got his first contact with the signal report of 5/9. Good on ya! Thank you to all those members that helped Glenn. This is what our club is all about: helping one another.

HAMFEST 2025 Huge Success!

We had approximately 175 attendees. The stall holders and exihibters were very happy with the turn out. The coffee kiosk could hardly keep up with orders and the ladies cooking were flat out! The club was able to sell quite a bit of items and some members did well selling [...]

PRE HAMFEST & Donations

JOTA 2025 SUCCESS!

On 18 October 2025 GCARS hosted a JOTA event for the Girl Guides from the Gold Coast. There were 17 Guides and 7 leaders. The programme included learning how to solder, put together an electronic kit plus getting on air and making a QSO in order to earn a badge. [...]
