Fishing Club Antenna Pre-Assembly – Gold Coast Amateur Radio Society Inc.

The club house was a beehive of activity today. All the equipment needed to install a new marine band repeater arrived over the past 2 weeks. With the help of members of the fishing club and our members, we pre-assembled as much of the antenna structure as possible. The install on-site is soon to come.

Aidan, VK4APM, presented to the group the basics and theory of the folded dipole antenna and how it must be strategically placed on the antenna pole in order for it to work properly.

A big thank you to all who participated in today’s event.

We all learned a lot and celebrated with a sausage sizzle!

PACIFIC AIRSHOW 2026
